Welcome to the Broadland Flood Alleviation Project website

This site provides information about a 20-year programme of flood defence improvement and maintenance works in the Nofolk and Suffolk Broads ("Broadland"). The area is one of Europe's finest wetlands and supports an important tourism and farming economy.

The Project began in 2001 and is being undertaken by Broadland Environmental Services Limited (BESL) on behalf of the Environment Agency. Further details are provided on "The Project" page.
