Compartment 11 (Bure) Planning Application

A planning application for the proposed works was submitted to the Broads Authority on 3rd December 2007. This is for flood defence works from Acle boat dyke to Great Yarmouth adjacent to the right bank of the River Bure.

 

 

The proposed works are shown in the table below:

The flood defences along Compartment 11 protects residential properties, businesses as well as five historic mills and recreational facilities including formal and informal moorings and a public footpath running along the crest of the floodbank. Additionally the compartment contains the A47 trunk road and the Norwich to Great Yarmouth railway line.

Works commenced late spring 2008.
